On Wednesday May 18 2011 Planning Minister Matthew Guy announced the approval of the Chepstowe Wind Farm planning permit application. In his press release, the Minister stated that the Chepstowe Wind Farm complies with the Victorian Coalition Government's wind farm policy, which includes a 2 km setback to dwellings and the requirement to use the 2010 New Zealand noise assessment standards. Among other requirements, the planning permit conditions will require the project proponent to prepare an avifauna management plan, offset native vegetation losses, and locate power cables underground.
A copy of the Planning Application that was approved by the Minister can be downloaded below, along with the expert witness statements for the DPCD Panel Hearing.
